Description
This project combines several Cricut pen colors and plain white cardstock to create a beautiful encouraging greeting card.
Cricut Canvas Link
Materials to Cut
- Two sheets 8 1/2 x 11 110lb white cardstock
- Cardboard or Craft Foam (Optional - this can easily be cut to 4x6 by hand)
Everything else
- Cricut Pens
- Fine Point - Bluebonnet
- Fine Point - Light Green
- Fine Point - Candy Corn
- Fine Point - Coral
- Fine Point - Black
- Adhesive
- An envelope that will fit a 5x7 greeting card
- Cricut Fine Point Blade
- Cricut Scoring Stylus or Maker scoring wheel
- Light Grip Cricut Mat
- Strong Grip Cricut Mat (Optional)
- Black Marker
Preparation & Cut (optional - card base - mat 1)
- Place an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock in landscape orientation on the upper left corner of your Cricut mat
- Click Continue and wait for your machine to connect
- Set the Base Material to Medium Cardstock
- Change the Pressure to "More"
- Load the Single Scoring Wheel in Clamp B
- Load the mat and press the go button on your machine
- After Scorning is complete, remove the scoring wheel and insert the Fine-Point Blade
- Press the flashing go button on your machine
- When the cut is complete, remove the card base and extra material from the mat
Preparation & Cut (card front - mat 2)
- Place the second 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock in portrait orientation on the upper left corner of your Cricut mat
- Leave the fine-point blade you loaded in step 1 in your machine
- Load the pen color as specified in the onscreen directions
- Load the mat and press the go button
- Follow the on-screen instructions and change pen colors when instructed
- Remove the card front and extra material from your mat when all pen colors have been drawn
Preparation & Cut (optional - dimension panel - mat 3)
- Change the base material to the appropriate setting for the material you will be using (craft foam or cardboard)
- Load the appropriate blade to cut the material you will be using
- Adhere your material to the strong grip mat and load it into your machine
- Press the go button
- When the cut completes, remove the dimension panel and extra material from your mat
Optional - hand-trim cardboard or craft foam to 4x6 instead of cutting with your machine
Assemble
- Using a black marker, add dots to the rainbows and fill in the heart
- Adhere the craft foam to the back of the rainbow panel to create the card front
- Adhere the card front to the card base
